Things Guests Ask Before Booking

Straight answers about running Nepal's rivers.

  • No experience is needed for the Trishuli, the classic first river with friendly Class III water. The Kali Gandaki suits adventurous beginners, while the Arun is a true expedition river best with some rafting behind you.

  • Road travel, rafting, wildlife activities and travel in remote places carry risks of illness, injury and death. Experienced staff, briefings and equipment reduce risk but cannot eliminate it. Your itinerary identifies your guide team, including Sherpa guides on Himalayan routes, and the support and equipment included.

  • October and November, after the monsoon, bring big, clean flows and warm days. March and April are the second window, with milder water and blooming valleys.

  • On the multi-day rivers you camp on sand beaches beside the water, with camps set up and meals cooked by the crew. The Trishuli trip pairs the river with nights in Kathmandu.

  • Quick-drying clothes, secure sandals or river shoes, sun protection and a change of dry layers. We provide the technical equipment, and you receive a full packing list after booking.

  • Easily. The Trishuli slots into almost any Nepal itinerary, and we often link a river descent with trekking or a cultural tour. Ask and we will design it around your dates.
