I found Sherpa Holidays when I was looking to do the 23 days Annapurna circuit trek and they not only made me a custom itinerary to fit my needs, but they also made the entire process seamless. Highly recommend Sherpa Holidays for anyone looking to head to Nepal!

Questions

Questions People Ask Us

Anything else? Call us or ask in the form.

How do we get around?

In a private vehicle on all four trips. On the 9-day highlights and 13-day tours, that covers the airport pickup, the drives between cities and the sightseeing transfers, and an English-speaking guide leads the sightseeing.

Who helps with our bags?

A dedicated person from our team waits for you at the airport and at each hotel.

Where do we stay?

On the 9-day highlights trip: a boutique hotel in Kathmandu, a hillside resort in Dhulikhel, two nights at a jungle lodge on the edge of Chitwan National Park, and a lakeside hotel in Pokhara. Ask us for the hotel names on your dates. We confirm hotels for your dates because availability changes. You stay in the named hotel or a similar one.

Can we ask for an elevator or a ground-floor room?

Yes, on request. Tell us when you book.

How active do I need to be?

The Nepal tours are rated Easy, and so is Nepal and India. Nepal and Bhutan is Moderate, because of the climb to the Tiger’s Nest. Expect temple steps and a few early starts for sunrise views.

Thinking about the Everest Base Camp trek too? If you are in your fifties or sixties, read what changes in how you prepare.

Is it safe to travel to Nepal right now?

Checked October 15, 2026: the US State Department rates Nepal Level 2, “exercise increased caution.” It advises against travel to the Rasuwagadhi, Timure and Syafrubesi area of Rasuwa district. Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara are open. If rain closes a road, we change the route or the timing. Our current Nepal safety article has more.

If the US State Department raises Nepal to Level 3 or higher, or your trek region is closed, within 60 days of departure, you can move your dates free or take full credit toward any SherpaHolidays trip for 24 months.

When is the best time to go?

Autumn (October and November) and spring (March and April) have the clearest mountain views. Winter is cool and mostly clear; the summer monsoon brings rain and fewer visitors.
